Loose teeth in dreams: Indicators of indecisiveness

A dream about having loose teeth could point to a situation or decision where you have made a compromise that is costly to you: Perhaps you have been staying in a relationship that is no longer fulfilling, or you accepted responsibilities at work that you do really want to take on.

Become your own dream interpreter

Accurate dream interpretation does not require you a become a clairvoyant or psychic who can do readings to predict the future, nor an astrologer who knows how to read horoscopes and make forecasts based on your zodiac sign.

Serious dream work compels you to engage your intellect, imagination, and intuition together. It engages both sides of your brain by combining activities associated with the analytical left hemisphere and the intuitive and holistic right hemisphere. Dream interpretation is both intuitive and intellectual, and as such, it can be part of a rich process of personal development.

Unlike the predictions found in horoscopes or psychic readings, dream interpretation relies on your active participation. When you interpret your dreams, put yourself in the shoes of the dream interpreter who understands the symbols and meanings of your dreams the best.

Loose teeth in dreams tend to represent the cost of indecision or compromise: Perhaps you’re thinking to change something about it, but have not yet fully committed to doing it or decided what to do. During that time, you may feel tension, frustration, worry and tolerate a situation that does not fully benefit you.

Loose teeth: Indicators that something is loosening up

A dream about loose teeth could very well be a pun on the word “loose”: Have you been loosening up lately regarding some matter that used to be sensitive?

Another side of this interpretation plays on a similar set of meanings: Do you feel you have been too “loose”? In other words, your dream could point to a moment when you may have felt you were too permissive or allowed something to happen that is now tinted with regret.

Dreams of loose teeth and grieving loss

When you interpret the meaning of loose tooth or teeth, consider feelings of worry, even perhaps fear of letting go of something that has high value to you in you waking life. The dream may be a warning about a difficult decision you have to make in order to preserve your integrity.

This interpretation could point to the need to protect yourself against influences, external or internal, behaviors or personal habits that could be detrimental to your health or emotional balance.

Interpretation take-aways

A loose teeth dream provides you with useful feedback on a decision you’ve made or have not made yet. Listen to feelings you are experiencing in the dream and as you wake up. They will give you a thread to follow in order to connect the dream symbols with your current life.

For Gillian Holloway, dream analyst and author of the Complete Dream Book, “this kind of post-decision feedback serves as a reminder that a temporary compromise may be strategic.” Remember that you can rethink or change direction now or at a later time when more appropriate.

A meaningful message delivered through this teeth dream is about weighing your choice of not following what would truly be most suited for you against the cost of preserving the status quo.

I recently had a dream where about 7-9 teeth have mine fell out, I’m pretty sure it was a trip to the dentist and as a person who spent 2 years wearing braces, it’s a big fear of mine to damage my teeth in any type of way. So obviously in the dream I was freaking out, I also had another dream where I was scratching my teeth (to remove the plaque and stuff like that) and like I kept scratching them until there was just an empty space where my tooth used to be. Is this like normal?

Just woke after a terrible dream.  In my dream I was washing my teeth in domestice did about about 5/6 brush strokes before I realised my two front teeth fell out.  The sunken feeling I felt immediately knowing what had just happened frightened me immensely.  I then remember thinking I need to get to a dentist quick who can fix this.  Woke up worried but relieved it was a dream.

Last night I had a dream that three of my veneers fill out off of my teeth. My teeth are still there but they were very small and very yellow.  I don’t have veneers so I’m not sure where my dream came from that I had been years but I have nice straight white teeth currently.  Anyone have any thoughts about how to interpret this dream?

Hi I’ve been having dreams for the last 2 weeks now
All involving different scenes and situations
But in each of them my teeth are falling out
One involved me standing at a cash machine and my teeth kept dropping out onto my hand

Another one was my tooth was wobbly and it fell then from there they all starting to just pull of so easily
And the other dreams was similar but in all of them I was frantic and devastated about my teeth ? Can anyone tell me what this could mean

    I had a terrible dream.
I dreamt that I had gotten sick and my stomach muscles had seized and my jaw had seized and I could no longer close my mouth fully.i felt alot of pain in my stomach and my jaw and teeth, as though someone was forcing my jaw open.
In my dream I got curious to see where then pain was coming from, so I looked in the mirror and noticed that all of my teeth were extremely loose, I presumed that this was the cause of all the pain, so I pulled on one of the teeth and it just came out so easily and painlessly.
So I started pulling out all off my teeth to try get rid of the pain, and as I dropped the teeth into the basin, I notice terrible decay on them.
I pulled out every tooth effortlessly including my impacted wisdoms.

So I carried on and noticed the my jaw was still in pain and was still seized in the open position.

So I went back to the mirror and noticed that all of my teeth had regrow back, but now my teeth appeared sharp and pointy and were no longer my own teeth, and with extra rows of teeth, kind of like a shark.

And that is when I woke up because it got too weird for me.

I had a dream recently that only the teeth on the right side of my mouth were loosening and falling out, and I kept puking up more. For some reason I would persist that the right side of my mouth was actually my left side as well. Not sure what exactly this means.

I had a dream last night my teeth was split in half and it was loose finally it fell off. Went to the dentist in the dream and he said there is nothing missing. Weird dream!

I had a dream last night that I was walking around with a loose front tooth and I kept messing with it and then all of a sudden my girlfriend sprayed me with water on my face and there was a string on tooth and she was yanking out. What could my dream mean??

  • Leon

i saw a dream where my 2 front teeth where already out but there was the vein that was holding them like a string I could shove them back in but they were too loose so I couldn’t talk or eat without them falling. Also there was this feeling that my mouth that it was full on the front its like I couldn’t close it properly. Like really fat rubber braces.
Then i remember i freaked out seeing my face with the 2 front teeth hanging I felt like its irreversible. so i walked up to my mom showing to her what happened. She was quite normal about it she didn’t even care. She was like well push them back in. I said they fall again what should i do? then she said well i dont know turned her head back to the tv saying basically its not my problem. It’s not my first time seeing my teeth falling out. This is getting scary

I had a dream of my upper two small molars fell out while I was walking in the shallow water in the sea. The teeth fell out at the bottom of the sea and I picked them up.

I have had dreams a few times now where my teeth have been so loose they are on the verge of falling out.  This time it was my bottom teeth, nearly all of them on the right side.  I could touch them under the gum they were so loose i had to keep my hand on my gums to stop them from moving out of place and falling out.  It was so real.  No pain associated with the loose teeth though.  Any help would be appreciated.
